The AA

The AA is the leading and only national quality assurance provider for formal star rating for accommodation in the UK.

It has been recommending and assessing hotels for over a century and rates thousands of establishments, from hotels and restaurants to guest accommodation, campsites and self catering properties. The AA produces a range of annual guidebooks including the AA Hotel Guide and the AA Restaurant Guide which showcases its well known and highly credible Rosette awards for food quality.

We sponsor one of their annual awards, Hotel of the Year for London at their main award event in September and also attend their inspection team conference.

The Caterer

The Caterer is still the UK hospitality industry’s leading source of information and has been for over 135 years.

It remains the official trade publication for the Hospitality Industry across the diverse range of sectors including hotels, restaurants and contract catering. It hosts many high profile awards and events including the Cateys, Hotel Cateys, Hotelier of the Year and Acorn awards.

We sponsor one of their Catey awards, Lifetime Achievement at their main event in July, benefit from marketing exposure on their website and also host a couple of roundtable discussions.

Best Loved Hotels

Best Loved Hotels is a well established hotel marketing consortium established in 1993.

It represents over 180 hotels each with its own great character. Each is a vital part of the delights and attractions of its region and each, in its own special way, is best loved by someone who has stayed there.

We are one of 13 preferred partners and sponsor their award event and have the opportunity of attending some of their regional meetings. Best Loved Hotels also look to pro-actively introduce us to their members we are interested in talking to.

The Master Innholders

The Master Innholders is a well respected, prestigious force within the hotel industry – an elite corps which is recognised as an industry standard bearer.

It aims to influence standards and extend professionalism within the industry; to promote consideration, study, discussion and research in the areas affecting hotel management including management development, training, education and recruitment.

We have been a partner to the MIH for the last 6 years and support their annual general conference in January.

The Master Innholder Scholarships have been formed and developed to help rising stars with a passion for hospitality access management training opportunities which are few and far between.

As alumni of the Master Innholder Scholarships, we actively encourage general managers and heads of departments to apply for the programme. The scholarships are awarded annually and successful candidates are granted places on a two-week management development course at Cranfield University, Cornell University (USA) or the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (Switzerland). The entire cost of tuition, board and lodging is included as well as a contribution towards travel to Cornell and Lausanne.

Royal Academy of Culinary Arts

Founded in 1980, the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts is Britain’s leading professional association of Head Chefs, Pastry Chefs, Restaurant Managers and quality suppliers.

We have Friend status with the RACA a new branch of membership that was started in 2010 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Academy. Friends’ membership is open to anyone who supports the philosophy of the Academy and its activities, but who is not eligible to join as an Academician.

Arena Hospitality Network

Arena connects the food service and hospitality industry.

We make it our business to bring together decision makers and professionals from all sectors of food service and hospitality and inspire the introductions, encounters and exchange of ideas that make our industry exciting and fun.

Our lively networking events facilitate interesting, enlightening and potentially lucrative interaction with some of the industry’s brightest and best.

Hospitality Action

Established in 1837 Hospitality Action, the Hospitality Industry Benevolent Organisation, has offered vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.

It supports people suffering from life altering illnesses, experiencing poverty, bereavement and domestic violence, as well as those retired from the industry who may be isolated. The money it raises goes towards grants for essential items including food, equipment and central heating, supporting often isolated and lonely retired hospitality workers.

The organisation also runs educational seminars advising catering students of the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.
